That black with a white tracer wire looks improperly crimped. There should be two crimp joints, one on the insulation, for strain relief, and one on the bare wire, for the electrical connection. Send it back and get the awesome m&h sourced piece from Year One. They make the electronic ign and late style vr setup like you want. Everything will look like it grew there from the factory and you will be happier with the outcome.

I also had quality problems with Evans.
Just bought a M&H engine harness for my 67 Coronet big block. Its ok but it is not all that close to the original. Quality is ok so far. Year One had it in stock and I got 10% off.
67 Coronet 500 9.610 @ 139.20 mph 67 Coronet 500 (street car) 14.82 @ 94 mph 69 GTX (clone) - build in progress......
