Ok I am having an issue with the overdrive in my 2001 Dakota R/T. I am driving on the highway at around 65 mph and about 15 minutes in my rpm goes up 200-300 and the speed is the same. Is it the lock up in the converter or a solenoid in the tranny. It has been the same for about 3 months and is not getting worse. The transmission has about 90,000 miles since being rebuilt and a new 3ooo stall converter from SMR
Any help please

Throttle position sensor.

*Edit* Sorry, does it flash up and down?

Pull the pan and see if you find a little rectangular metal piece laying in there. If so, the clip for the boost valve is broken. Happened on my '00 R/T.

First thing I would do is have it scanned to see if it has any codes. The dealer and many other shops can record the electronics when it happens to look at all the electronic sensors and diagnose it so you wont just throw parts at it. Ron

Do the earlier year 1995 46RH autos also have a clip for the boost valve that can drop off?

Thanks for the help, gonna check the codes first then drop the pan. Looking to drive across Canada this summer and don't want any fun problems
