I pulled the X heads off my 340 to set up new springs for a new cam. I pulled the valves out and noticed the hardened seats put in the exhaust valves had a step from the insert to the head. I started blending them in to get rid of the step, I was curious if it was ok to grind in the area next to the intake valve, there is a step there but the head also has material that angles out into the bowl, I don't need to grind much but I don't want to hit a water jacket. I colored the area in question.
