I was checking out a nice '67 Dart last weekend and noticed there was a fender tag on the left front fender. The VIN matched the radiator core support so it is original to the car. I wasn't aware Dodge attached a fender tag under the hood on the '67, and I've always seen them on the door hinge post. Is this unusual for a '67? It was an LH23 car.

The VIN tag is the the door post in 67. The fender tag is under the hood.

The number on the fender tag/rad support/trunk lip is NOT the VIN. That is the shipping order number. The VIN will only appear on the VIN tag (door post). The only document that you can match VIN and SON is the broadcast sheet...

The number of the fender tag and the core support is the SO number, not the VIN which is attached to the drivers door post. If the door wasn't open you wouldn't know what the VIN is.

...But in New York the VIN is on the registration sticker on the windsheild.... makes it difficult to hide a clone at a car show.

Thanks for the info. I did open the door and did not see the VIN tag. Don't know now if it was missing or just painted over so I didn't notice it.

VIN tag is between the hinges, just above the door switch (see pic).
