If you take out the cluster radio and glve box not so bad. IIRC a deep well 3/8" socket and extension can reach in and you can get to the Pal Nuts that hold it to the frame.

A couple of ways. If the windshield is out, then remove the screws at the top of the cowl. Loosen the bolts down on the side, loosen steering column nuts and rotate dash. Its a lot of work to make it easy to get to the pad nuts. Or an assortment of 1/4 drive extensions, a swivel and 3/8" deep socket with a lot of patience. Minimal work but not easy to get to the nuts. Removing cluster, heater controls helps a ton, middle effort work to make it a bit easier to get to the nuts. Or you could find someone else with skinny arms and small hands to reach up under dash.

It's either 6 or 8

With the radio, gauges and glove box out it can be done no problem
