Are the Pro Stock cars basically using the same engines but just with fuel injection ? I really did not follow the changes that well but I thought I heard they would be going to different engines before long ? Thanks , Ron

As far as I heard, same engines, fuel injection of course but different rocker system I think as I have heard talk about different push rods???

Listening to these motors going through the traps in Phoenix....are they using up all their 10,500 RPM's at the finish line or am I mistaken....??

Same engines, limited to 10,500 RPM, and added Fuel Injection instead of carbed, also hood scoops gone with piped in air from front end.

The rpm limit is why they are slower this year. That's a BIG deal with these motors. The top teams are down 1000 rpm from last year.

Some talk about the scoop, but it makes no difference on an EFI car. The ram effect they had with the carbs doesn't matter with the EFI.

Saw Billy Glidden testing at Orlando with his Pro-Nitrous car. No scoop, throttle bodies just even with top of hood. Runs the same, with or without scoop, which is the same we have found

Well the fastest of the cars are on the limiter at the end of the track, for quite a ways actually...Just sayin...

True.........that's gearing and one of the reasons they are slower than last year

The Elite cars look kinda lazy off the line; the Summit guys leave harder, but are definitely into the chip at the top end. Seems there's an issue with the lower end of the power band.

Watched Line's car idle on TV last night...sounds like a alcohol motor in a TA/FC,and the oil pressue gauge was up and down just like it was idling.

Transmission ratios are where the guessing is going on now, get 1st gear right for the launch, and the spread between the others to his the strip right at the 10,500 limit.

Personally I'm surprised they're not further off than they are. When you think about how optimized every component of a ps car is. One change could spoil the whole package.

I'm going to be patiently waiting for the EFI trickle down effect. Has to make things better for everything related to racing with EFI. Also great for holley as an EFI supplier. They'll be far out in front with what will be learned. Nasa brought us velcro, and duct tape. EFI PS will bring better things for us all.

Velcro was invented before NASA even existed.

"Velcro is the brainchild of Swiss electrical engineer George de Mestral who in 1941 went for a walk in the woods and wondered if the burrs that clung to his trousers — and dog — could be turned into something useful.[1]

The original patented hook and loop fastener was invented in 1948 by de Mestral, who patented it in 1955 and subsequently refined and developed its practical manufacture until its commercial introduction in the late 1950s."

Duct tape was invented during WWII:
The idea for what became duct tape came from Vesta Stoudt, an ordnance-factory worker and mother of two Navy sailors, who worried that problems with ammunition box seals would cost soldiers precious time in battle. She wrote to President Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1943 with the idea to seal the boxes with a fabric tape, which she had tested at her factory.[11] The letter was forwarded to the War Production Board, who put Johnson & Johnson on the job.[12] The Revolite division of Johnson & Johnson had made medical adhesive tapes from duck cloth from 1927 and a team headed by Revolite's Johnny Denoye and Johnson & Johnson's Bill Gross developed the new adhesive tape,[13] designed to be ripped by hand, not cut with scissors.
"

I'm on fire!

R.

As long as T-shirt, bumper sticker and souvenir program sales remain high, it's going to become like IROC and NASCAR: everyone uses the same stuff.
