The rpm limit is why they are slower this year. That's a BIG deal with these motors. The top teams are down 1000 rpm from last year.
Some talk about the scoop, but it makes no difference on an EFI car. The ram effect they had with the carbs doesn't matter with the EFI.
Saw Billy Glidden testing at Orlando with his Pro-Nitrous car. No scoop, throttle bodies just even with top of hood. Runs the same, with or without scoop, which is the same we have found

Well the fastest of the cars are on the limiter at the end of the track, for quite a ways actually...Just sayin...

Watched Line's car idle on TV last night...sounds like a alcohol motor in a TA/FC,and the oil pressue gauge was up and down just like it was idling.

Transmission ratios are where the guessing is going on now, get 1st gear right for the launch, and the spread between the others to his the strip right at the 10,500 limit.

As long as T-shirt, bumper sticker and souvenir program sales remain high, it's going to become like IROC and NASCAR: everyone uses the same stuff.
