Who has stuffed a deep pan'd 360/727TF combo
into an A body with the tranny connected to
the engine..from the top?
As much as I hate to, I'm taking the headers/steering
linkage out to do this.

I'll hang up so you can answer my question.

Take your K-frame out and stuff it in from bottom

Jack the rear of the car up really high. Will make it easier to get in. That long tailshaft can wreak havoc.

Like Bob says, if you can't do it from below, jack the back of the car up as far as you can, put it on jack stands, and get an engine tilter. Best investment I have made in a LONG time! I'd leave the headers in though, unless you are getting rid of them. Just tie them to the sides.

Thanks guys, I'm leaving the headers in,I think, but I might just take the complete tie rod/draglink/pitman/idler assembly out, so the headers might just come out anyways.
