Got a little dispute with some folks as to the factory spec's of the 68 340 Manual trans spec's camshaft vs the automatic equip'd cars. Other guy says it is only in the LSA (lobe separation angle). IIRC, it is more than that, 268 vs 284 advertised intake duration seems to be the range of difference.

Alright, found an old 1968 ad, it says 284/292 duration, 445/455 lift, with 60 degrees overlap. Auto/trans spec was 268 advertised IIRC?

Seems pointless now, but what say you.....

Auto cam was .429/??? lift as I recall (manuals are all out in the shop).

Auto cam was 268/276 .429/.444

68 4 Gear 276/284 .444/.453

Auto cam exhaust lobe became intake and 440-4hp intake lobe was used for exhaust lobe, IIRC.

My understanding is that the 1968 advertisement was either a misprint or during final production the manual camshaft was tamed down a little as per above posts, but still a hotter camshaft than the automatics.

Auto cam #2899206 .050 duration 210 intake 220 exhaust. Manual cam (1968 only) #2899205 .050 duration 220 intake 228 exhaust.
