I need some direction with my build. I have a 493ci 440 with Eagle rotating assembly and JE pistons. Due to budget, I need an out of the box (or needs mild machine work) set of heads to bracket race and go on short cruises. Looking to run pump gas. I have around $2000 budgeted for this. Thanks!

Let me be the first to say Trick Flow. If too rich for your blood, Sidewinder.

I was looking mainly at Trick FLow and Edelbrock Victor. I spent an hour last night reading on here about the T/F heads and seems like the best option so far.

Victor valve train is a pain. Plenty of used Indy or new Trick Flows look promising.

Trick Flow will make excellent power right out of the box and they use standard rocker arms. You'll need longer pushrods and longer head bolts but other than that they are a bolt on. The Victor head is not a good choice if you're on a tight budget. They work well but require a fair amount of work and special parts.

My engine has head studs already, will these work with the Trick Flows?

Trickflow for that budget....

Ron, the TFS heads are 2k complete. They appear to come with quality parts.

Depends what the studs are for. Different Mopar heads require different studs. The center row of long studs need to be extra long for the Trick Flow heads. If you already have studs then just buy 10 of the longer studs and you'll be done.

Trick Flow heads are about $2000 delivered from Summit and they should be ready to go out of the box. Just be sure you order the correct valve springs to match your cam specs. TF offers several different spring packages.

I have an article in the current Mopar Action magazine on the Trick Flow heads if you want to see more details.

Thats a very good deal on the Trick Flow heads. I am very pleased with my EZ heads as Dwayne Porter gave me a good deal and they use all stock geometry valve train parts. But it sure sounds like you cant go wrong with the trick Flow. Good luck , Ron

Looks like I am going with the Trick Flow heads and going to order a cam from Competition. Thanks for the information everyone!
