What are the best front disc brake pads to use with the Mopar Action big rotor swap? This is a manual, non power setup.

Use some cheap Raybestos organic pads for the first 1000 miles, then swap in some Firmfeel Semi Metalics or top-shelf Raybestos semi metalics. Use the orange anti squeel stuff on the backs of them...

Ewwwww....

Where can you get the EBC pads for the common slider type calipers? I think these may be the calipers you're using in the brake swap, or are they the ones with the pins?

These are the slider type:

What about ceramic pads, seems like most new cars are using them?

How do you like them? Power or manual?

You want pads softer than the rotor on the street.

The ceramics can be slow to get "grippy?" until pretty warmed up. My day-to-day driving doesn't really lend itself to getting them warmed up most of the time. Risk of tickets and all. I've had some experience with ceramic pads working less well that the semi-metallic ones until they get downright hot, but once there, they are great and far outperform semi-metalics. I just didn't like their performance up to that point for the street. If you are autocrossing or racing, that's a different story, but then you really wouldn't be running factory Chrysler type brakes if you are too serious into that anyway.

The brake set-up pictured below vastly outperforms the stock ones on my 1970, but they are still not to happy when you try to scrub off speed from over 160 mph more than a few times.

What pads are you using there - you have pin-type calipers right?

Yes, their the pin type. I use the highest quality Raybestos semi-metalics available, They have excellent cold braking performance and do pretty well until really hot. Firmfeel has some nice pads available for about $75 US, that are a little more cold blooded, but have better high temperature performance.

I have ceramic Bendix on the 65 with manual pin type.Best brakes Ive had.My cost at Advance was under 30 bucks. They even keep the rotors cleaner as they would surface rust with the organics. If you want to waste money on 75 buck pads go for it.But the Bendix will do the job for less.Rocky

Ceramics are good on my modern stuff. Clean. Quiet. Good performers. (You're showing-off John).

Of course I am Dennis. It's one of the few remaining vices I enjoy. I can hardly wait to get my electronic exhaust cut-outs plumbed in....lol
