Do you still want them to go up and down? If not you could whittle a wood block out of some 1/4 round or similar, put it into the window track and run a screw thru it.

If you still want it to go up and down, old school seat belt pull?

Piece of cake. Cut the 1/8" Lexan to same shape as the glass. Drill a 1/4" hole through the inner body structure. Place the Lexan in the opening to locate the spot drilled in the body. Drill a hole in the bottom of the Lexan. Use 1/4" threaded rod with nuts on either side through the body and lexan to attach. This allows the Lexan to be adjusted outward against the outer catwisker to fit nice. You could use 1/4" Lexan but Lee may give you a weight ticket,LOL. For what it's worth 1/8" Lexan fits in the stock weatherstrip for the back glass with no issue.

On my old 62 Dart I just pinched the tracks
just below the glass with a set of channel locks
that was quick and simple(that was with the stock
glass)

That really is the wrong end to cut weight.

I pulled out the window glass, the regulators, the trunk hinges and a lot of other stuff when I tubbed my '68 Coronet. Taking weight off the back does not help traction.

Not every application wants the same thing...

Get the weight down, then shift what's left around to get the balance where it needs to be.
