Hey all ,quick question ...I did a few searches and now a bit confused .I just picked up a 87 d100,/6,4 speed OD with hydro clutch, and also picked up a 95 1500 2wd with a 318 and 5 speed .I want to clean up the 318 and put it in the 87 with the 4 speed and hydro clutch .Big question is what bell housings will work?
Thanks

you need a 88 d100 v-6 hydro bell/flywheel that has a A535 5 speed.

my 88 hydro bell has 2 sets of bolt holes

1 for the 883/883OD 4 speeds
1 for the 435 granny 4 speeds

my 93 D250 5.9 hydro bell for a NV4500 5 speed only fits the granny gear 5 speed but looks like the 88 v-6 hydrobell.

looking at newer hydro bells from DAKS with v-6 5 speed manuals you might find a v-6 bell with the 883/883OD/a535 bolt patterns

or you find the ax-15 5 speed with hydro bell which take 9 bolts to bolt bell to trans weaker 5 speeds but will convert to a d100 chassis

how long it last behind a 318 depends on how you abuse/use it. they have a different ratio/rpm range and are light duty.

I have mine on the bench if you want a part# or pic of it for IDing.

the 5 speed in the 95 should be the NV3500 which the bell does not remove and could be made to work in the d100 chassis with a little effort.

I made the 93 nv4500 fit my 85 stepside d150 chassis converting from auto to hydro granny 5 speed using the 85-727auto cross member.

sorry for the delay responding back.

I will get the # off today for you. late 80s to early 90s IIRC.
