Mopar brought and introduced a 6.1 based block at SEMA a couple years ago, I don't know if they plan on actually selling any to the public or not

Drop it in a FED, set it up with an alky injector, dial it back to 10.0
run it until you retire......
oil changes, plugs and fuel. Maybe check the bearings every couple years.
You might be able to keep the car under 1200#.

It's amazing what a little silver spray paint can do

A handful of aluminum 6.1s have been made for development and investigation purposes. The costs associated with producing them is VERY high and (long story short) for the time being MP believes nobody would be willing to pay for the product.

Sorry I can't throw a number out there, but I have a good enough grip on reality to where I said "no way, no how would anyone buy that" when I heard what projected MSRP would be.

On the bare block, I have never weighed both but my lower back says "yes the 5.7 is definitely lighter".

The 5.7 is sold at the production level only with aluminum heads and a plastic intake, so the complete engine is lighter than an LA motor by default.

A 6.1 with an aluminum intake weigh's 415 lbs. The 5.7 with the compsite intake will be lighter.
