I'd like to strip off the electrical tape from my wires and put some sort of not-too-sticky tape or cloth stuff on them. Kinda more factory like.

What are some good options and where could I get some locally? Auto parts stores? Home Depot? Radio Shack?

Hockey tape from your local sporting goods store is very close to the original cloth-type tape, plus usually for only like a buck a roll.

I asked this a few years ago. Since I didn't need a 100% correct resto tape, i was recommended 3M Super33+ electrical tape. I bought some at Home Depot (or Lowes - don't remember exactly) and wrapped the wires across the front of the Duster and it been fine that way for years.

Ditto - Super33+, quality tape, doesn't goo (although it is a sticky tape unlike the original, which is an improvement in my book), and looks "right"*

*your definition of "right" may differ
