what would be the best lda for my indy headed 408 street/strip barracuda? 67 cuda weights 3300# with me in it. the heads are 360-1 and flow 312@.600, compression 12.5, indy intake/1000hp prosystems, 1 7/8 tti, 727/4500 stall, 4.10gear/ 28"tire. current cam is 258/264@50-.650/.650 lift@the valve 108lda. i'm thinking about getting a larger scott brown cam, but he likes a 112*lda and i'm wondering if that would kill the short times. best 60' is 1.57 footbraking.

LDA by itself is close to meaningless. The idea is to get the intake and exhaust opening and closing points where you feel they should be. Your 60 ft is pretty weak for your combo and my best guess is you need more converter and 4.30 gears to pick it up. Can you post an ET slip as this will help get a better picture of things. Generally you want your converter stall to shift point difference of 1200-1500 rpm and with what you've got I'd think you'd be making nice power above 6000 rpm. You cam looks pretty close for a strong street/strip carIMO.

Wow that slip isn't very pretty is it? There are several things to check, but IMO changing the cam wouldn't be the first choice although I'd go larger and keep the 108lsa. Something in the tune would be the first place to dig. Have you a wide band o2 to monitor your fuel curve? Timing is also worth looking at,are you running a locked out dist? The converter also has me curious? 8"? was it tailored for this combo? I wonder why it's not picking up more MPH from the 1/8 to 1/4. 25 or so would be more normal,IMO. What are the details on your fuel system? Are your valvesprings the correct piece and setup correctly? I had a friend the was having similar problems,we found a front brake line had collapsed internally causing one brake to drag and scub a few tenths.
