Auburndale Machine on Southside drive Louisville I have had a number of engines machined there and always right on. They are also Mopar guys and may be the only Mopar guys with a machine shop in a sea of Chevy and Ford guys in the area.

I used to spend a lot of time at the Naval Gun facility right up the street from there and would bring engines from Minnesota there to get machined.

Oakley Motorsports is in Owensboro. Very good, works on everything. Don't think because you have a Mopar, you need to go to a Mopar "guy", that is ridiculous, plus limits your options

Butch Smith near Frankfort does nice work, lots of Mopar experience. He just machined a 383 for me.

You are out of your mind and living in the past. A few years ago, would anybody have ever considered Wescott or Reher-Morrison, "Mopar" guys? Of course not, but they were considered some of the BEST "Chevy" guys in the world. But now, Wescott is considered a HEMI god and RM also builds some of the best AH motors on the planet. If you know how to make power and do proper machine work, what is scrawled on the valve cover makes ZERO difference...........So would you rather take your motor to someone who is proven to do good work, or some guy down the street, just because he is rumored to be a Mopar guy.

I have one of the better known "MOPAR guys" shops, not 45 minutes from my house. I wouldn't let them do a lawn mower engine for me, because I have seen the type work they turn out. Also about the same distance is a shop owned by a guy who used to do Gary Browns NHRA Pro-Stock Chevy motors. He does beautiful, flawless work.......THAT is where I go. We also have a guy here who owns a shop, that is a 8 time IHRA Modified Eliminator World Champion. I could care less that those cars were Chevy's. He KNOWS how to make power.

Somebody above mentioned BES. Bischoff is FAR from a MOPAR guy. Why are you not calling THAT poster out, like you did me................Oh, forgot. Bischoff won Engine Masters with a Mopar, so now I guess he is a "Mopar guy". Some need to take their heads out of the sand

Hey Doug,

what are the plans for the challenger?

I am converting Randy B's GTX over to a StickShift...Pedals and linkage are in, and I had Hyatt Racing build a complete clutch setup for me, and ordered a Lenco sT1200 5spd for it (should be here in a couple of weeks!

I will race Randy's engine first, and then I am installing an aluminum block 572 Hemi (Street/strip). Should have the engine finished by the end of this year...

Have already installed the Mono-leafs, Caltracs and spring sliders.

Br, Mark

You do NOTHING but insult the Mopar world here...

I've seen you talk jack about Mopar suspensions...

And trans...

And engine builders...

Your 'comments' about engine builders is a slap in the face to the legions of those who deal in just Chrysler...

I really don't care about your experience with the 'Mopar guy' you dealt with...

One experience has ZERO bearing on the industry as a whole...

You come in here and chant rah-rah-rah about Chevrolet incessantly...

So tiring...

And redundant...

And very unprofessional...

You may THINK it, but probably not very prudent to broadcast it to the many Mopar people here...

On a MOPAR web-site...

There are some Mopar engine wizards here in these parts...

More than one...

They've left their mark...

And have legions of customers...

I'll be they would just be thrilled to have someone tell them about how 'ridiculous', and 'stupidest thing I've ever heard of' when it comes to their choice in taking a Chrysler engine to a Chrysler engine builder...

Dang Monte….I think no different than you. He probably didn’t call me out because I’m just another no name guy – you have “community influence” and some simply like to pick fights with the bigger guys – maybe it’s the little guy syndrome - IDK.….lol.

I don’t use BES either, but not because I think anything negative. I’m completely happy with a GM loyal machinist up here in my area and the OP asked for a local reference. I do know of BES work (I’ve had my hands on it) and would use him without reservation, that said, I would back him as a referral. I simply won’t give out bad advice and Monte, FWIW….sometimes you just got to look past those shyt stirs.

As far as "insulting" the Mopar world.........your are an......well never mind, but I have a pretty good suspicion that I have done the Mopar world way more proud in my career than you ever have.

And one more thing, I DID NOT SAY, it was stupid to take a Mopar to a Mopar only guy.........I said it was crazy to think you HAD to. How about READ what I said, before inserting foot in mouth

Also notice you made no comments about Wescott or Reher-Morrison or BES. So should we, or should we not use someone like that, since they don't qualify as Mopar specific shops?

Doug!! Keep us posted on the build! Your car looks great! And Monte...don't pay attention to that other comment. In todays' world,if a shop was Mopar only,I think the owner and his employees would go hungry or broke. I am sure some may be better than others. I am sure Doug will find a good shop. Some Mopar guys have to stop living in fantasy land.

Dale Meers is not a Mopar only shop, he does race Mopars though. A guy local to me has a sbc he built that runs hard. I've been told he also builds excellent roundy round engines.
