I have plenty of alternator brackets off 440s. (non A/C of course) And am now in the process of prepping a Hemi to replace the Wedge. boogie

I am using a balancer that places the pulleys in the wedge location rather than the Hemi location. So can I use the 440 brackets on the Hemi? I know the Hemis used a straight adjuster arm rather than the curved one on the wedges. How much of the 440 stuff can I use? The adjuster arm, triangle bracket?

Thanks!

Go to the Hoffmanswinnerscircle website and click on the engine bracket section.... Lots of great pics that should answer your question...

The triangle bracket is the same. The lower bolt and spacer to WP housing is the same.

The spacers and the pivot bolt are different length, the lower strap is short and straight. Alt cannot pivot up as far, output stud will hit the head.

I'm running regular standard non a/c big block alternator brackets on mine.

Like you my harmonic balancer (BHJ) is designed to run regular big block pulleys.

Uses standard big block belts too.
I have no problems with alternator fit or clearance.

Kayse can't keep up at all now. lol

That's what I was hoping. I'm using a BHJ damper, too. And I just located a Federal pump and bracket in the stash that I didn't even know I had. My Shaker will cover much of the engine, so I am not real concerned about what it looks like under there. But I kinda like what can be seen around the Shaker to look fairly OE, just for fun.

You're a lot farther along than I am with my project. My block is at the machine shop now. Hope to have it back next week or two.

It would be nice to have mine turn out as nice looking as yours.
