working on my 1978 Ramcharger with a 440. had a regular starter but went bad. Had to take off headers to remove. Want to install a mini. went to autozone. They have a small one that's for a 360 in a 92 dodge truck for $68, then they have a 360 for 1996 one for a $100. ? different part numbers. same specs. Anyone know the difference??

The difference is one is heavy duty watt rating from what I see.I run a 99 360 one on my 440.Its been on since 99 or so.My kid bought a new one from 440 Source for like 60 some bucks.Had it in the 413 for about 4 years and sold the car.Never a problem.Rocky

What Stump said, check the connectors & iirc something about you can take off the bakelite connector to gain access to more compatible terminals underneath it for an easy connect to our traditional large ring terminal and small ring terminal combo starter cable, then get the $68 one at AZ

Al,ost all have the connector. Its easy to remove. Most you have to cut the studs down or gr d the block a bit.I just cut about 1/8 off the studs on my 440.I think the one for Source just slipped in on the 413 my kid had. There are many listed on Ebay also for cheap.Quite a few guys have bought them with no problems.Rocky
