All 3 are different, due to the width of the brake shoe. You are correct, in figuring it has to with the "depth" of the stamping of the plate itself. Never have seen any numbers on plates, that i have pulled, cleaned up, sold. You have to have an "eye" for seeing, knowing, what your looking at.

Identifying them can be tricky sometimes...I always keep the old drums and backing plates together as units. Its a pain saving something that may be no good but at least the next person knows what to buy... If you have the correct drum I think that's all that you need to know...

I just measured my 10 inch plates using this method and it makes sense. Thanks for digging around to find this and post.
I will post back to this thread with some actual measurements if these are the correct ones. Maybe it'll help someone else.
