Pulled my windshield out tonight to start the rust repair, was expecting the windshield channel to be completely rusted out by the vin tag, but was pleasantly surprised to find only a spot less than a dime that needs to be repaired. My dilemma is the dash between the channel and the vin plate. It has rusted through about a 2" area just below the vin tag. Was thinking of drilling out the tag and welding a piece of metal in for the repair,I'm not sure how available a complete dash shell is. And if its worth swapping one out compared to repairing it.
Maybe some of you have done either or both.

Thanks

Duane

You see them at Carlisle for sale often, depends how quick you want it, or fix it if the rest is fine.
I have a spare but am still thinking of fixing some drill holes in mine to keep the original.

It would be nice to find a damaged one I can cut the good part off and go right to the flange and edge of the windshield base. Maybe someone on here has one or I'll call Stephens or one of the other mopar yards, just gonna take the vin plate off first , gotta get those rivets, who has them?
