No, that was 100% by hand. Also it's port matched to a raised Port 245 INDY... I had many hours in the port match as well, moved some copious amounts of metal on this manifold.... I normally cloverleaf the 4500 conversions but this one is for 450 inches, so I needed the extra plenum volume & CSA at runner entrances so.... it went square flange. I've seen some ICH's done with square flange before, but this one basically goes straight down in off the flange, most round them in more to move less metal & keep size smaller. I've done alot of 4500 flange conversions, but never moved nearly this much raw material before. Hope it makes power....

Thats a PILE of alum to do by hand plus thats a big
CI engine its going on... nice job

the plenum(VERY small due to ruff cast) that I will
be cutting on in a few days. I'm not sure if I want
to make it a 4150 or a 4500

No pics of the runners. Too late now it's already bolted on. I modified a set of INDY gaskets... We should have fire in the hole tomorrow, I picked up the fuel this afternoon.... have to order 2 more drums as now I'm out.

Some places do CNC manifolds, one problem I have is we do so many different manifolds.... Doing a program for each one would be $ & time consuming. Also like on this job I want it done differently than I would do it if it was a 416 with W5 heads.... so I'd have to have multiple programs for same intakes... I just wish INDY would cast a 4500 SB manifold. He won't do it because it costs alot of $ to do a all new core box for it, we've already talked about it. But it just irritates me because 90% of people running INDY head/INDY intake drag combos are going to use a 4500 series carburetor & their damn manifold is a 4150...... I know their answer is "use our adapter" Well yeah that's a great cheap way to do it, but this manifold is already very tall... then you add a 2" adapter ontop of it.... & then factor in a Dominator is naturally a taller carb than a 4150..... you end up with a hood clearance nightmare, besides the fact they always make more power with a real 4500 flange than using the necked down 4150-4500 adapter.... so...
I know it's $ to do a new intake core but man I have bought I think 7 360-3 manifolds in January already, & I think every one will eventually have a 4500 ontop of it, if they offered a 4500 version I think all 7 would have been ordered in 4500 flange. I suppose if I do enough of them this year, We will just have to scrape up the $ & pay for a 4500 SB intake casting to be made. Russ told me if I ordered 20 at a time he'd do me a 4500 intake & maybe I should do it. We'll see how the economy goes this year......

Im wondering when Edelbrock is gonna do the Super Victor in W2, so that it can be opened up for the 360-1 heads or just bolt to the -2s. Dominator would be nice too. Im thinking not anytime in this economy. Bummer, im currently using a Super Victor with Eddy heads and was forced to buy the indy for the Indy -1 heads that Brian @ IMM has now. The intake just doesnt look nearly as good as the Super Victor. I guess they work though.
10.53 @ 125mph. 1.37 60 foot. Caltracs and Monoleafs, AFCO shocks.
Heads by INDIO MOTOR MACHINE; IMM.
CP Pistons, PC Carbs.

are probably more common than most of us have the ability
or equipment to discern. I'd be intrested in before/after
pictures of your INDY manifold, just for a visual reference
to it's layout.

OK... I did'nt touch it today because it turns out the dyno operator is leaving for Florida for 2 weeks next weekend so I gotta prep this other 436 Arrington motor to dyno as well now before he leaves so I spent the day thrashing to get it together... We're gonna try to do your motor with the 436 in back to back days... fun fun fun.
