How is the IP for my '70 cuda grounded? I just repaired the tack and put it back together and am having some electrical issues.

Does it matter what ammeter posts the (3) Red & (1) Black wires go to?
Thanks

The cluster is grounded to the dash frame which is grounded to the car body. red amp wire goes on left stud ( A1 ) looking at the diagram. the gauge will read backward if hooked up wrong.

Thanks for your reply.

My problem is in trying to connect my extra (2) Red 10ga leads back to the ammeter, of which I lost track of.

I know which Red one is the supply and goes on the left as you say.
The Black goes on the right.
Shouldn't the remaining (2) Reds be on the right post as well?
Might be a convertable thing?

Interesting that my OE Service manual has the Red & Black ammeter leads switched on the diagram.

There should not be any extra red wires. The factory harness only had the red and black wires, only one to a post. Back in the day when I installed police lights and sirens, we were not allowed to hook anything else to them or risk a fire.
