I have been looking for tachometer cable between MP distributor and SW #535 gauge. Is there new ones available? GOOGLE has not been my friend so far..

Thanks! Pepe

Not to sound stupid, check E-bay. I've found many on there. I do believe there is a speed shop on there selling/making them still
Thanks, Ken

Doing it all the time. There is plenty of Moroso/Motorola cables, but they don't fit.

If you can find a speedometer shop they can make one for you. If not local maybe you can find one online.

That is where I got mine a 100 years ago.

back in the 80's i had a truck repair shop make me up a cable for a stewart warner tach to a prestolite[?] duel point distributor from a 60 300F. the cable didn't last very long, so another was made as a replacement at no charge because it didn't last. same thing happened. there were no sharp bends or kinks in the housing, so just to avoid the headache, tach was replaced with an electric one. later, it was brought to my attention the probable cause was likely the core material for a speedometer is wound backward from that used in a tach application. as it was such a long time frame past, the cables [ the original is still around somewhere, but the 2 longer replacement cables that broke are gone] are nowhere i can compare to see if this is a true statement. this maybe something to check into before getting one made up. can anyone confirm this as fact or fiction ?

You are probably finding the thread size smaller on the tach end is different from the distributor end right? These are unique as I came across that ,is it for a correct resto of a nostalgia car that you need to use the SW tach ? Otherwise might be easier to change tachs to a more common cable on a moroso or even a Jones tach .

How long do you need it to be? I've ran into this problem in the past, you need the little adapter for the S.W. tach and the matching cable length with the proper tach end for the adapter thumbs I may have one,let me know the length you need and I'll check mine to see if it will be long enough luckEdited, both of my cables are for the Jones Motorola tachs, sorry blush I must have sold the other cable with the adpater when I sold the last S.W tach several years ago, CRS disease realcrazy

hi , I have same setup in my 340, the cable has to be wound left handed. speedo cable is right handed, and will unwind.only place I seen so far is Pegasus, 1 800 688 6946. might try stewart warner, they are making that tach again. good luck. the dist has a round end with a blade , tach has .104 sq end.

Correct, dist is 7/8" and tach 5/8".

My english is not good enough to make a phone call but I just sent email to Stewart Warner.
