Getting ready to make up some bucket seat supports (going from bench to buckets) for my Demon. What thickness/guage of metal should I use?

I just put some 4" diameter washers under my bucket seat bolt holes. 4 years of abuse and it's still perfect.

use approx. 1/8" steel, 3"x4" or larger. weld it in on the top of the pan and only the inner set of holes for both seats, the outers are supported by the same brace as the bench seat mounts

I agree...... but.......

Why on top and not the bottom???

Also radius the corners to relieve and potential stress points. Pointed corner on stressed members is bad.

Because on top is where the factory put them and they also served to level the seats. If you just make something up you're going to have to play with washers to get the seats level. No big deal.

Yeah that's what I had to do. 4" diameter washers underneath and a 4" diameter washer on top under the rug. Had to stack em up a couple times to get the seat level. No big deal, it's under the rug where nobody sees it.
