Are aftermarket master cylinders available to improve breaking?

The high dollar aftermarket ones wont improve braking per se only hold up better over the long run. The common aluminum ones are trouble free, save weight, the only critical decision is to select the correct bore size for your app & I would suggest Dr Diff who is a member here who knows his(brake)stuff & will steer you in the right direction. EDIT if you need more braking the rotors/pads/calipers down at the wheels needs to be changed

Thanks for your post. Was at the bookstore the otherday and remember reading a book about drag racing and the author said that aftermarket master cylinders can improve breaking! Dont remember the book offhand but Im sure I remember reading it! Was hoping to improve the breaking on my 73 charger with front disc breaks without replacing the entire system. An improvement to the stock setup in my opinion would be less pedal resistance! Thanks for your help and welcome all comments.
Bowties and blue ovals just dont cut it for me!

If you decrease the master cylinder bore size, you increase the line pressure. This yields a longer, lighter pedal stroke.

Do you have power disc/drum w a cast iron MC? I would replace the MC with a 7/8" bore aluminum unit with the adapter plate & I will defer to the Doc for the final sayso on the best bore size. Bleed it all out & I think you'd be good.

1 1/32" bore works for most stock Mopar brake systems.

If you need more, a new iron 15/16" bore (4 hole) master is available from any parts store. #36406

This master is compatable with power and manual brakes.
