Anyone ever paint the letters on their tires white? Contemplating doing so on a set of bfg drag radials so when I buy new fronts I can put rwl out? Pictures or advise in favor or not welcome.

You can paint them, you will get a lot of practice. My experience is that the paint only looks good for about a month or so. If you decide to paint them, you can buy paint sticks that would work pretty good.

Years ago, the raised white letters had white rubber under a thin black skin. If you carefully ground off the top skin, you had raised white letters. I'm not sure they do the these days, I'd almost bet against it. Gene

I've done it a couple of times and it works okay but does require regular freshening up. Be sure to clean the areas to be painted with paint thinner or the like.

Duplicolor has paint formulated for that, I have used it in the past and it works great! up

I never had the luck with the paint pen you guys seemed to have...It kept discoloring within a day from white to a dull, light brown...Even after multiple coats that looked acceptable once the tires heated up it discolored immediately...The tires were new mabe that was the cause...

It's almost 2016, time for us to step up to new technology. You guys should check out www.tredwear.com. They make custome tire stickers of sorts. You can even get custom logos and stuff made and they claim they greatly outlast paints and stuff. Heard a bunch of these things were showing up on show cars at Sema.

I've had good luck with Sharpie paint markers from Staples etc. Did that with BFG T/A radials myself and looked good for months. But my car leads a pretty sheltered life. Your results may vary.
