I am having second thoughts on useing the hooker super comps on my 422ci small block stroker.
I have the stock 340 1970 manifolds and thought that maybe that honeing stuff they push threw stuf would do well forgot what they call it{extrude hone?}
Would it hold back a 340 4.100 bore =422ci with 4" crank it came out to
10.88 compression
nicely ported eddie heads and nicely ported six pack intake that much?
I also have a NOS Sixpack Cheater System that is 250 shot with 2 plates for front and back carbs and a spacer for center that will be used at times.
Headers are tuff on the street.But also do not want to kill the motor or waste $$$.
I am posting in Race since I want real world opinons
Thanks Kevin

Extrude honing is a waste of good money,I'd rather take 5 good friends to a St Louis cathouse,and get the most bang for my bucks.

woodie i have the hookers brand new in the box with thye Coating on them. they have been in the attic now since 2004 and are rusting in the attic.
I called Jet hot long time ago in 2005 and they said they do not coat for Hooker and they get calls all day long for guys wanting the Hookers redone.
Guess I should just drag them down to Jet Hot and get then redone.
Did I say Hookers coating sucks?

Just put TTI headers in my slightly warmed 340. The seat of the pants difference was very noticable. I had the HP manifolds before the headers. Read a few mags with dyno tests that claim 40-50hp/torque over manifolds on a stock motor. All I really know is that the butt dyno doesn't lie.

Most of the Hooker headers I've used were made in Mexico. Says so right on the box.

I think it was Scott Smith Harms who recently did an extrude hone test on a 340 stroker for FAST compitition and he gained like 3 hp ovr un EX-honed hp manifolds.

Headers on a 300hp 360 crate motor were worth about 25 hp over early 340 manifolds, on a bigger badder motor I think the differance would be even greater.
