Wondering what oil pan options are out there. 67 A body, factory steering, K frame and TTI's. K frame is trimmed a bunch for clearance.

Milodon 31000 seems to be common but i'd like more capacity and depth without having to add an accumulator.

Charlies offers a pan but it doesn't appear any deeper than the Milodon.

Anything else i'm missing?

Will the rear sump clear the center link? or do you have an aftermarket front end?

Someone needs to make a 10-11qt deep drag race center sump pan for the Gen III in old Mopars.

Exactly what I'm after. Heck I'd settle for 8-9 at this point. It's sad the aftermarket makes 6 quart pans and the truck pans are 7 qt from the factory.

I just bought a truck pan and pickup off ebay for $50. My plan is to cut the front of the sump out and add extra capacity.

While I have not had any issues that I know of with the Milodan pan, I think they dropped the ball and could have made it a little deeper.

But I also have a rack and pinion on my car

Guess I might have to crawl under my daily driver (2010 2500 Ram) and take some oil pan measurements.

I ran into the same problem. I ran my engine out of oil on the top end of the track at 7000+ with a 6 quart pan. I took a Milodon pan, cut the sump, and extended it. I run 10 quarts in my system with remote mount filter setup. 8 in the pan and a quart in each oil filter and never had an issue again.

Do you have a pic of your modified pan?

Setting here thinking, where is all that oil accumulating up in the engine? I would look at the drain back holes instead of just pumping more oil up there. How much oil pressure do you have at 7000, should be no more than 70.? What viscosity? Now that you said that I'll do a visual on mine tonite.

The exhaust valves and rockers were designed to be oiled via that side of the head FILLING with oil. Intake rockers have oil holes aimed at the valve tips, exhaust sides have none. Its not the most ingenious design IMO but if you create rapid drainback you might end up with blued exhaust rockers.

I have 75lbs if oil pressure at 7000 with 10w-40. I have to see if I can dig up some pictures tonight. I freshened the engine up 6 years ago so I have to see if I can find the pictures.

Rockers and springs oscillating in a bath of oil, might as well put them in a blender, I can see a lot of foaming. Surely they could have come up with some type of spray out of the shaft or rocker arm.

I have never heard that before and there is no way that could be true. That would require 5 qts of oil.

and for the record, Ray Barton told me they are only running 7qts in there 950hp 9000+ rpm engine. They do restrict oil but wasn't exactly specific on the details

Look at the exhaust rockers, no oil passage to valve tips. They get oiled from splash/submersion.
