presuming you have ac,discharge ac remove lower dash on passenger side,unhook all the vacuum hoses and cables,remove part of the ac ductwork,remove the complete assembly from the truck,remove the top part and then you can remove the heater core,
its not as bad as it sounds

HEATER-A/C HOUSING REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
The refrigerant system must be completely Discharged before proceeding with this operation.

Disconnect negative battery cable.
Remove lower instrument panel module. See: Body and Frame\Interior Moulding / Trim\Dashboard / Instrument Panel\Service and Repair
Remove the center air distribution duct.

Tape wiring harness up and out of the way.
Remove the antenna cable from the retaining clip at the right end of the heater A/C unit.
Disconnect heater blower lead wire and remove the terminal insulator retainer from heater A/C unit support brace.
Disconnect the defogger hoses from the adapter tee at the top of the heater A/C unit.
Disconnect vacuum harness connector from the heater A/C control pig tail and vacuum feed line from check valve.
Disconnect the temperature control cable flag retainer from heater A/C unit and remove self adjusting clip from blend-air-door crank.
Discharge refrigerant system and drain engine cooling system.
Disconnect refrigerant lines and remove the expansion valve. With plastic sheeting and tape cover the open ends of the refrigerant lines and expansion valve to minimize refrigerant system contamination.
Disconnect the heater hoses and plug the heater core tubes to prevent spilling engine coolant into the interior of the vehicle.

Remove the condensate drain tube.
Remove 4 heater A/C unit attaching nuts from rear engine compartment dash panel.
Remove heater A/C unit support brace attaching screw and swing the support brace to the left out of the way.

Carefully pull heater A/C unit rearward until attaching studs clear the dash panel and allow the unit to drop down. Rotate the unit until the attaching studs are facing downward and remove the heater A/C unit from the vehicle. COOLANT WILL SPILL ON FLOOR!!
To install, reverse the preceding operatio
