Hello all. When I start the 340 on these cold days (not as cold as some of you guys out there) I sit in the car and hold the gas petal to idle @ around 1300 until the motor warms up or it will idle down and conk out. Once she warms up, it idles just fine (now that the motor is grounded properly, thanks again for the help straightening that out ) Isn't there a screw adjustment on an AVS that upon initial startup, you step the petal, turn the key, start the car and it would "fast idle" by itself until you step on the petal again, at which time it would return to a standing idle. Am I making sense here?

ok.
I pulled the throttle back. the linkage in question moved a tad "up". The screw is still in contact with the anvil piece @ a slightly different spot.
Did the choke stat fully close the choke butterfly when you opened the throttle?

I'm thinking it did not. The position of my screw is on the same side of the step (which I see now, thank you for the picture) as yours,
but no where near as far up the slope as your is.
I will adjust to match yours, see how it goes and report back.

The pic shows with the choke butterfly fully closed. First thing to do is start with the car FULLY cold, remove the air cleaner and open the throttle. The choke butterfly should then fully close, if it doesn't you need to look at the choke stat. If it does adj the screw pictured in, I go more than I know I will need and back it off from there.
Good to go now.
Thanks
Mike
