I was wondering if anyone knew the height difference between a Torker and a Performer RPM? I'll be getting a dual plane intake for the Fury before long, and haven't decided between the Performer RPM or just the Performer. I only have about 3/4 of an inch clearance underneath my hood with the Torker and a 2 1/4 inch drop base air cleaner, so I'm worried about having room for the RPM.

Also, if there is room, don't you have to have a bracket or something for the carb to get the throttle cable to line up right? I remember reading something about that.

According to Ebrock the performer rpm is almost 3/4" taller than the torkerII
I know that some people have had clearance problems with the rpm on that generation bbody but dont know about cbody.

In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice, there is.

Put some clay spikes 1inch on the air-cleaner lid and close the hood. That'll give near exact clearance numbers for you now..
What engine is this going on? 383? 440? 318?
I can measure up on a 440 with 440 Performer RPM to get height. You can gain some clearnce by having a machine shope take some of the carb mounting pad. Ray Barton did that for me on a Stage-V 2x4 Hemi intake. Maybe 1/8 or 1/4 inch spacers between body and k-frame too.

Motor is a 440. I'll get some clay and check the clearance but it's pretty close to 1/2 an inch. Im on a budget so machine work is out of the question. I'll probably just stick with the performer.

If you have the torker now (and stock valve covers), remove the carb and lay a straight edge on the carb flange, extend it out over the driver side valve cover. Measure from the bottom of the straight edge down to the valve cover. Compare to the pics below.

Yeah, it's hopped up to over 160...

I use a ball of cheap aluminum foil to check clearance. Used the same trick to check my aftermarket alum. radiator
