I'm in the process of switching the rotors on my 70 Challenger from the 10.95 to the 11.75 rotors. I've got a new set of rotors, caliper brackets w/bolts and new bearings and seals. My problem is the seals for the new rotors don't fit my spindles and of course my old seals don't fit the new rotors . It's been awhile since we did this on the kids car but I've got a bad feeling I need to get larger spindles. Is there a 'trick' seal that works or am I 'sclewed' ?

do you have 73 & up disc spindles on there or the 70 ones?

They are 70 as far as I know as the old rotor and left side axle have left hand threads. I did some digging in one of my mopar performance upgrade books and it looks like I need 73-74 e body or 73-76 A body spindles. When we did my sons I think we had to also change the spindles.

OR I herd you could use the adapter for the inner bearing on your spindle as the inner bearing is bigger...saw this on MOPARTS someware....AND you need the bigger inner bearing and seal.

Start calling the local bone yards and get a a-body set of spindle's. Or 73-74 Ebody disc brake spindles. The hardest part to source is the caliper adapters and you already have them

Yep! Looks like this is a project for another day. I put it back together and will go back to getting my 'stealth' motor assembled. My machinist just called and the block is decked and the crank, pistons/rods, flywheel and dampner are balanced and ready to pick up!

I think that was Dr Diff. PM or email him and I think you'll be in business.

Yep! I just found his ad on E bag. $50.00 for the adapters and new seals. Beats the heck out of a couple of hundred for spindles (if I can find some), a lot easier also.

Actually the Mopar Collector Guide has a add for NEW drop spindals that work with the bigger rotors. Junkyards are loaded with originals, woud be very easy to find.

Well, maybe where you are. Around here most of the yards have been picked clean of anything Mopar, even the A bodies. I think I'll just go with the adapters. It's quick, simple and easy. Dad always said, "When you get older, you're supposed to get smarter"!
