a friend of mine has a 71 scamp with drum brakes in front with 5 on 4 bolt pattern. is there a 5 on 4.5 drum that will fit the a body drum spindle?


for what is the good life if not doing things thoughtfully?

Not that I know of. You will need to change out the spindles.

On my 69 I used a SSBC convertion kit and they were 5 x 4.5 used the orginal spindales that came on the car.

Cheapest way is to get the 73 up A body spindals, brake adapters and calipers at a U pull it yard Oh and upper control arms while at it
Have the rotors turned, rebuild the calipers, slap on new pads,hoses and repack the bearings.

this way if your ball joints/bushings are Ok you wouldn't have to open anything up nor have it realigned. EDIT but there have been several issues with ssbc stuff in prior posts. I didn't pay much attention because I never thought I would be purchasing their system.
