I have a 727 that I will be putting a trans brake valve body in soon. Looking at Coan racing and they have a trans brake reverse pattern and a trans brake reverse pattern but with low band apply. Now I'm thinking of going with the low band apply as I have a steel drum and bolt in sprag so I don't want to have a drum flying into my feet.

Any advice and/or experiences with the two different style trans brakes will be most appreciated.

I believe your sprag will be happier with the low band.

We just put a new A&A Trans brake with low band apply in our car. I couldn't be happier. I have used several other brand brakes and the A&A is by far the best I have used.

Don't all the manual low band apply valve body slow the drag cars down some shruggy work

Mr.Cab Racing and winning with Mopars since 1964. (Old F--t, Huh)

Didn't think about A&A, I have been happy with their parts and customer service.

I had a nlba TranzAct in the Mirada. It worked great and I ran an aftermarket front drum with stock sprag.

Our 904 has a Griner nlba brake, but it's mostly stock internals and was only behind our high 10 360.

Duster's currently equipped with a 727. It had a Griner LBA, but I sold it and went with a Pro Trans clean N nlba.

....I also have an older Griner NLBA trans brake laying around doing nothing that worked from the trans it came out of.

A friend has an older Coan Trans brake, and it looks like a Griner.

I'm 99.9% sure that the 727/904 transbrakes sold by Coan are actually TranZact.
