Be very careful dealing with Imperial Services. It took me six months and a threat of internet fraud to get my cable. Maybe things have gotten better but I know others have had problems. When I finally got my cable it was a very high quality piece. Maybe you should call first. I ordered a speedometer ratio adapter from Imperial Services at the end of August. I originally called, and Steve Charette answered the phone. Was told around six week turn around, and every time I call ANY of his numbers, always have to leave message and never have had contact since. No return calls or email. I will be looking at legal options very soon, yes, be careful!

Would a cable from a 63 Dodge be the same? I may have one I just removed and I'll measure it. I'm assuming they would be the same. If it measures close to 48" I'd be very interested in buying it from you. Thanks, Forest

B-body PB shift cables vary from 42-48". 48" would be correct for a BB B-body.

If an internet company advertises, takes orders and collects money but does not deliver the goods or communicate I believe that's considered internet fraud by the FBI. Here's where you can file a report: http://www.ic3.gov/default.aspx Thank you!

Is it broken or just leaking? The leaking ones can be sealed with heat shrink tubing with the glue in it. I have a few running around like this. I have the tubing if you need it. Doug The shrink sleeving with the glue is the hot set up for leaks. After cleaning, I used Scotch 23, the self-vulcanizing tape, covered with Scotch 33 then then liquid electric tape. Same application I use on outside radio antenna connectors.

Same application I use on outside radio antenna connectors. Rather than concentrating on the cable leak one should go to the source of the leak. The early speedo pinions have a rubber seal inside them that rarely gets changed because, unlike the later units, the pinion stays with the cable when the trans is removed and never gets the seal replaced. The seal prevents fluid from entering the cable housing.
