01 stratus se with 2.7 magnum how to tell if it is the pump or something else that controls the pump? when you turn the key you do not hear the pump run. i have the pump out of the tank.thanks ed

Easiest way is to inject some brake cleaner in the throttle body and see if the car starts and runs briefly. 98% of the time it is the pump and not a controlling problem. With the pump out of the car hook + and - and see if it runs this may not help if the pump runs but does not supply the necessary volume/pressure

ck voltages at the connector, if all is good , chances are really good it's the pump ( common on JA cars )
