Most guys prefer the car front cover and intake vs the truck intake, front cover, and accessories.
If it's cheap enough that you're pretty much paying for the block, then do it. I bought a spun bearing truck motor early on for $300 or so; sold everything but the long block, and bought the car front cover and accessories from a junkyard. Just know the market is small for the truck specific stuff.
I have zero input on the trans. Other than I'd encourage you to swap to a manual now if you're going to in the future.
