ColorMeGreen OP member Joined: Nov 2004 Posts: 144 Pennsylvania	What is the recommended lube for a 69 A833? I tried a quick search but didn't find it.. I just dumped in Lucas 75/90 but haven't run it yet.

T Joined: Jan 2003 Posts: 21,065 Niles , Ohio	Some say ATF.I have used nothing but 80 90 gear oil since the 60s.My 65 thats well abused and the Express truck still have gear oil and no problems.Ma did recommend ATF in winter if shifts were hard.I drove mine for years year round in the 60s 70s and gear oil was fine.Rocky Chrysler Firepower

Also recommended 140 wt for 18 spline 4 speeds.. WAY TOO thick, I tried it..... Last edited by minivan; 10/09/15 02:43 PM.

JohnRR I Win Joined: Jan 2003 Posts: 74,977 U.S.S.A.	If you've ever disassembled an 833 with high miles that ran only ATF you'd find the cluster gear pin will have a groove worn in it from the needle bearings due to the ATF. running up my post count some more .
