The original transmission crossmember and mount for my Dart is of the biscuit type. I will be putting the trans. back in soon and was wondering whether I should change it to a later model spool mount crossmember when I do. What I would like to know is, is there any real benefit to using a spool mount over a biscuit mount on the trans.? I know the spool type mounts are preferred on engine crossmembers but haven't ever heard one way or the other regarding trans. crossmembers.

The only advantages I can see are trans bolt easier bolt access and poly mount availability ?

The trans spool mount is better for the same reasons the spool engine mounts are better.....captivity upon failure.
