getting ready to put my magnum 360 back together. so i will be needing a new set of valve springs i see there are many options.
comp cams 20-811-9 has .538/.538 lift
springs and kit i looked at
mopar performance .600 springs
hughes engines 1199 spring kit are good for .550 lift
hipotek VSK6 spring kit good for .550 lift may be the same stuff as hughes??

what about ls1 springs i seen a few treds on 3100 springs and ls1 spring should be the same diameter i know comp cams makes some stiffer beehives.

what would you guys do lol
thanks

I would use the hughes for that aplication, the 3100 springs are iffy at best with that theoretical lift and the LS springs need the spring seat machined and installed height is not real adequate but it is doable with the right spring, just not worth it.

When I had my one set of mags I used speedway mtrs .100" longer valves & there are offsett retainers that are higher and or lower than OE. I'd see what height you need first for your cam lift including a potential cam change in the future which it sounds like you are already up on

When I was looking for springs for my 318 I found that the installed height was quite short and I believe it's the same for Mag engines, like 1.60". So to go with a .538 lift you'll need a spring with a solid height of about 1.00". There aren't a lot of springs around like that.

One thing in your favor is that the lifter angles reduce actual lift from theoretical lift.

But the Hughes 1110 spring fits best, and the 1199 kit for around $200 with springs, retainers and locks will get everything taken care of at once.

Otherwise using a longer valve opens up the spring selection and the stud mounted rockers have a better chance of being adjusted to work properly.
