68 road runner - I am aware that the front of the core support is blacked out (behind the grill) but I am not certain as to the actual paint over pattern. Does anyone have a picture of the proper paint pattern and what color/texture of black is used.

There is no proper way. It was applied from the bottom at a 45 degree angle and half azzed. It was like a flat black with a little sheen. More or less a hit and miss.

I've heard a guy would stand in a pit, reach up and spray the cars as they went over him on the line. It was very quick and dirty. It makes a huge difference though if you don't do it - just doesn't look correct at all.

You just need to make sure you cover the areas that can be seen thorugh the grill, filler panel and bumper openings. Don't forget the vertical grill support. I forgot to blak that out and it sticks out like a sore thumb in pictures.

Well technically there is a proper way - there were factory diagrams that showed exactly how it should be applied (used to be available from Barrys site until Chrysler got heavy handed ).

But I agree, on the line it was a guy in a pit and he may not have closely followed the guidelines!!!
Either way, I agree just cover everything that could be seen, its very noticable if you don't.
