hey guys. i am playing with the idea of a posi in the back of my 2500 diesel. it is a 3.54 gear.
i did some looking on two places and did not find too many options.
it seems that the dana 60 up front i really need to know the spline count.and the dana 80 in the rear i think has 35 but am not sure and carrier wise some told me the 80 has 70 guts in it?

i am tired of killing the right rear tire plus going up to snowmobile with chains on a posi would be even better with the tire chains on.

anyone put one in their open diesel 5 speed? i was hoping for the type thet installs inplace of the spiders in the open rear with no removal but from what i am seeing it is not made for my 80.....

I wouldn't do one in front without a locking hub kit $$$$.
Good old Detroit locker for the rear but they're not cheap.
I don't think they make the lunchbox lockers for an 80 mainly for strength and durability reasons.

The easiest would be to find a complete rear end out of another 3/4 tom truck that had a sure grip. Surprised yours didn't have one

Hard to find a Dana 80 with a posi, seems more common in a dually but they usually had 4.10 that uses a different carrier than a 3.54. V8 3/4 trucks usualy got a 60 with an auto and a 70 with a 5 speed v10 and diesel got 70 with an auto and 80 with a manual every 1 ton I seen had the 80.
