I used to have both of them, now I only have the 66 at the shop. I can tell you this though, using a 66 K member in a 65 hemi car moves the motor back 1" and then you can use the 66 headers. The crossram will hit the fitwall slighty, however.

now this is starting to look serious

i think schumaker carries the conversion mounts for hemi to early 1964-1965 wedge k-frames now, atleast they were working on them a few months back.

thanks , not looking to put a late one in an eary car , though i'd like to .

i found , ok was turned on to , a K to put a hemi in my bee , got pics and it has the 67 down idler mount , and the seller is unsure what year it is because he pulled it from a 69 RR . i just want to make sure its not a 64/65 piece .

A buddy of mine has a factory '65 Hemi car. I've looked at that K frame before and the differences weren't all that obvious to me. I have a Hemi K frame from a '66 or '67 (early idler bracket) B body sitting here on the shop floor. I can take a picture and post it.

Here is a long distance shot. I'll try to get a close up shot tomorrow.

64/65 hemi k's have the mounts in the same place as 66/70. The engine brackets are different-race hemi and street hemi are not the same bracket.

The easiest way to tell is to look for a skid plate. 64/65 will not have one. The other thing is the sway bar holes are not drilled on the 64/65 k frames. (on the front lip of the k)

doooh , i wasn't sure , i was thinking the ront of it would have been higher in the pic of it in front of your car and the engine ...

i'll have to post pics of the one i am looking at .

oh and that one has swaybar holes so i think its safe to assume its a 66 67 k

John The 1964-65 K-Frame are the same as a 1966-67, but the 1964-65 K-Frames did not have a skid plate on them.
