How did you guys plumb your cowl mounted fuel pressure gauge? I've heard not to use copper, and theres no way I'm going to fit a braided -4 hose between my cowl and hood and get it to close? Any hints/tips/tricks?

See if you can use #3 an braided line.. IF need be
you can run a short piece of copper 1/8" but attach
it so it doesnt flex... then use a #3 or #4 connection
point and braided line...copper line shouldnt be flexed
because it will work harden and break

In this "oil line" thread I posted with pictures of how I plumbed what your asking about, hopefully it'll give you an idea on how I did it without drilling any holes, at least on a challenger.

Why would you use a #4? That's way too big.

Alright will find something smaller, I was under the impression that 4 is what people were using. So where did the tubing go once it went through the cowl?

Thanks guys I appreciate the help

EDIT: Crap I just realized your cowl vents move with the hood. I am trying to avoid drilling more holes than I have which is why I'm trying to get something that can close in the gap between the back of the hood and cowl, I could run a hard line into an adapter like you suggested though.

Our parts stores here are junk for stuff like this, or you can buy green painted tubing and other goofy looking stuff, so I'm trying to get everything I need from Summit with another order I've got, and its a little tricky to figure out how I'm going to do it and what I need when I'm not even 100% sure whats available.

FIRST thing.. you need to check to see if the #3 line
will fit your loovers... if it does then use #3 braided
line all the way to your T in the fuel line... maybe
someone can give you the OD measurement on the #3 line
so you dont have to buy any to check... I dont think I
have any right now.. but I will check.. then you would
need 1/8 pipe to AN#3(most gauges are 1/8 pipe but check
the gauge your using, assuming your using a carb then you
want a 15# gauge... they work best in the mid range of the
gauge).. then check the T you will use for that size fitting

#3 will not come close to going through the louvers, plus it would wear the paint away=rust if you did squeeze it in there.

Once through the louvers with steel brake line then I adapted it to #3 AN line, that is what the male #3 AN flares are for.

I put the brake line through before flaring it.

If you know your dorman numbers then, you can order the stuff from Summit, dorman is a name to remember for specialty fittings/adapters. Dorman don't carry AN stuff I don't think?, but it(dorman) can get you to 1/8" pipe thread and from there you can go anywhere.

IMO it would not be a good idea to squeeze a line between your hood and cowl. I think it would look crappy and be unsafe in a accident. Could pinch off the line and cause a leak, no way I would do it like that.

All brake line and Dorman I buy local and AN stuff I have to order and I get it from Smokeys, not Summit.

Auto parts stores can get you anything you want, you just have to ask/order it and know what you want. With this internet thing that is easier than ever.
Not do with what they stock which is crap=air fresheners= puke

Not sure what body style your working with but on my E-body I mounted my fuel gauge on the cowl. The pictures aren't great but you'll get the idea. I use a -3 braided line. I can get better pics. latter if you need them.

I'm working with a 67 B body guys. I don't think I'll pass tech if I run the lines through the cowl, right? Which is funny because there are new cars with fuel lines routed through the interior.

That 'Cuda looks like a bad mofo
