that sounds like an early B rear?....
perch center to perch center for an E body is 46", it's 44" for a pre '70 B.
overall width (drum face to drum face where the wheel mounts) is 62" for an E, ~59.5 for a pre '68 B, and about 60.5 for a 68-70 B.
