She began her career in 2006 when she turned 8 and was amidst some very stiff competition from the start. Most of whom would also move up to the next class at the same time she did. Been to a number of final rounds and most of those she lost going red. This weekend, Summit Motorsports Park is hosting Shakedown At the Summit and as part of that they had the Jr dragster Shootout where the top 8 in points in each class race off for a trophy and $500 cash and a $500 Summit Racing gift card. I have to say Taylor did a great job of driving to earn her first win. And to have it come during such a big event makes it feel even better.

After being on the losing end of so many final rounds it was almost unreal seeing that win light come on. Taylor has been doing a great job in the car this year and is currently sitting 3rd in the points standings. Her opponent in the Finals, Courtny Grisez, is in the number 2 spot. As we all were talking before the round, we all agreed that it was going to be a great race. And it was. With both cars dialed a 7.90 I was really looking hard at the top bulb when the tree came down. Well, this time i couldn't tell who took the tree. Now I know why. Taylor's light was .084, Cournty's an .082. Taylor ran 7.869 ripping the throttle. Courtny, a 7.864 on the brakes. MOV .0052

WILD BILL OP Senior Member of the Junior Dragster Club Joined: Dec 2007 Posts: 10,542 BROOK PARK, OH	Yes the track was very sticky. In fact, way to sticky for what these cars need. After the rain delay, the Jrs were the first class called so the track prep was fresh and as it so happened, Taylor was in the right lane of the first pair pulled. Just about all of us had to push the cars into both bulbs for the Time Trial. I was able to tighten the belt enough to get her car to stage on its own for the remainder of the event. Thankfully, the track crew was understanding and lifted to the rule that would disqualify you for touching the car after top bulb is lit. Last edited by WILD BILL; 09/21/15 08:17 PM.
