I have the same situation as you.i tried them all but they didn't hold up well.i ended up getting a boat cover for a pontoon boat, its heavy duty canvass and water proof.it was around 400.bucks but ive had it for about 7 years and its showing no signs of wear.if you go this rout make sure you get a BIG one my car is 17 feet long and I think my cover is for a 25 ft. pontoon,it completely covers my car and there is enough material to weight the edges if it windy.i bought it from a site called Boats US.

I use a Noah from California cover, very nice and water proof, let's my car breath because it's open at the bottom and don't scratch the paint. Fit's perfect and has never come close to blowing off and it's light weight and easy to store. The best cover I owned so far and this is the 3rd one for me and this car.

My next cover is going to be a extremeweave I think it's called?

Any breathable covers are going to be water resistant not waterproof. I haven`t had much luck with car covers. I tried a couple different types. Some that actually seem to hold moisture under the cover where others that would wear paint on the edges. Sorry I couldn`t help. Maybe there are better covers out there now.

California Car Cover sells the best stuff out there. They have many different types.
I've tried the inexpensive covers you see on Ebay, and they were crap: material & seams came apart in a few months.
I have CCC covers that are older than some of the guys on Moparts, and they're still good.

Have to agree, had 2 other covers before. One says Evolution on it and it was OK, just OK. Didn't have the liner in or the thickness as the Noah. Still have it but now it has a few stains and starting to become dusty, just like the first one did only took longer.

the first one put more dust on my car than if I didn't use it at all. It started to fall apart, trashed it. It was grey and looked just like the others but with no tags=china junk I bet?

If the car cover moves in the wind it will wear thru the paint on the sharp edges of the fenders and quarters in no time. No biggie on a project car, but something to avoid if it has a respectable paint job.

For the types of covers that aren't waterproof you can put a tarp on over the car cover and tie it down to keep the water off the car.

Trouble is if the car cover doesn't breather correctly You will get moisture between cover and finish sunlight on that causes stains that will never come out of finish
