I need to replace the front floor pans on my 68 charger but want to do so without taking the car apart. I recently purchase a full front floor pan, including the hump. My basic plan is to cut the pan in two pieces so that I could get it in through the door and then weld it back together. Has anyone ever done this? Is this a crazy idea? Does anyone have any tips? Should I cut the pan parrallel or perpendicular to the hump?
Thanks,
Jason

Does your hump need replacing? If not, I would consider keeping it in place as a reference to location, and like you say smaller pieces are easier to work with.

I cut out both sides of mine and welded in the new pans. I have several pictures in my signature site. If you look at the painted floor after it is hard to tell they were replaced from the bottom or top.Look under quarter panel replacement and floor removal. Good Luck
