Well our last pull of the season came and went this weekend! It was certainly a roller coaster type of season.
It started off Very well! The changes we did with the torque Converter stopped the bounce (the problem the season before) and allowed us to have good smooth take offs. Just over the mid season point we were Second in points and BANG! A valve dropped in the motor and of course did as much damage as it could in only 2-3 seconds.
We sent the Head and Block off to get repaired and decided to do a full refresh at the same time since we were planning on doing it at the end of the season anyways.
We got the parts back last Friday. It was Saturday we noticed the wrong Ring pack was sent. To make thing more interesting Monday was a national holiday so we called Tuesday to get the right ring pack air shipped for Wednesday. Took nearly all the rest of Wednesday to properly fit the rings to each cylinder. Longer story short we worked non stop and got the engine all back together Friday morning at 6AM. We woke back up at 9am fired her up and broke in the rings and headed off for the last two day pull of the season.
We ended the season where we left off and got two solid Second place finishes! The second day we were only two feet from first place (same person who won the points this year).
Here is the video of the last event of the year. The Engine chirped at the limiter at 9400 that run and pulled down to 8600 when the weight came on.
Enjoy
